Read this bit first
We're not looking for a Head of Product who treats AI like a buzzword to sprinkle on a roadmap. We're looking for someone who has opinions about model evaluation, who lights up when talking about agentic workflows, and who can walk into a room of security operators in Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo or Sydney and translate "what does this AI actually do for me on a Tuesday night shift?" into a product they'll pay for.
If your laptop has Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and a half-finished agent experiment all open right now then keep reading; you're our people.
Who we are
icetana AI builds AI that keeps people safe across some of the world's largest surveillance networks - malls, cities, hotels, campuses, cultural institutions, and critical infrastructure. We're ASX-listed, Perth-headquartered, and we just had our strongest financial year on record. Our Antara AI platform is reshaping how security operators work, and our partners (SoftBank Robotics, Macnica, Genetec, Milestone, and more) are taking us global.
We're small enough that you'll see your impact in a week, and serious enough that the product you ship genuinely matters when something goes wrong at 3am on the other side of the world.
The role
As Head of Product, you'll own product strategy, roadmap and execution across the icetana suite - Safety & Security, Analytics, Forensic Quick Find, Facial Recognition, Licence Plate Recognition, AI Agents, and our Antara Core private-AI platform. You'll lead and grow the product function, partner closely with Engineering, Sales, Customer Success and the executive team, and report directly to the COO.
You won't be writing models, but you'll absolutely be shaping how we build, evaluate, deploy, and sell them. You'll be the person who connects what's technically possible with what customers will pay for and who makes sure the team between those two worlds is humming.
What you'll actually do
Set the direction
- Own the product vision and multi-quarter roadmap across the icetana product suite
- Translate market signal, competitive moves and customer outcomes into clear product bets
- Partner with the CEO, COO and commercial leaders on pricing, packaging and go-to-market
Build and scale the team
- Lead, mentor and grow the product function
- Set the bar for product craft: discovery, PRDs, prioritisation, measurement and the unsexy operational rigour that separates good from great
- Build the rituals that make product, engineering and delivery feel like one team, not three
Hold your own on the AI
- Shape how we frame, evaluate and monitor AI capabilities, precision/recall, false alarm rates, drift, ground truth, the lot
- Be the person engineering trusts to push back thoughtfully on architecture trade-offs (edge vs server, latency, cost, throughput)
- Stay genuinely current on the frontier: LLMs, agents, multimodal, evaluation tooling and have a strong point of view on what's hype and what's real for our customers
Translate AI into customer value
- Sit with operators in control rooms. Watch them work. Find the moments where icetana saves them time, stress, or a serious incident and make those moments the product
- Be the bridge between "this model now does X" and "here's why a facilities manager in Canada will renew because of it"
- Own the narrative: release notes, customer-facing roadmaps, partner enablement and the story the sales team tells
What you'll bring
- 5+ years in product, with at least 2–3 in a senior or leadership role (Head of Product, Group PM, Director of Product, or equivalent)
- A track record of shipping AI/ML products that customers actually use, not pilots, not demos
- Genuine technical depth: you can read a model evaluation report and ask the right next question. You understand thresholds, class imbalance, drift and why proxy labels will burn you
- People leadership chops: you've hired, coached, performance-managed and built teams that punch above their weight
- Commercial instincts: you understand B2B SaaS economics, channel/partner dynamics and how product decisions show up in ARR
- Executive presence: you can hold the room with a board, a customer's CIO, or a frustrated engineer and adjust your altitude accordingly
- The AI obsession: you don't just use AI tools, you have opinions about them. You've shipped something with an LLM in it. You read the eval papers for fun
Nice to have
- Computer vision, video analytics or real-time inference experience
- Background in security, OT, industrial, or critical infrastructure
- Experience scaling a product team from <5 to 15+
- Worked across global markets (we're strong in APAC, growing in the Americas and EMEA)
- ASX-listed or otherwise public-company experience
What success looks like (first 12 months)
- A product strategy and roadmap the whole company can recite and customers can see themselves in
- A product team that's bigger, sharper and shipping faster than when you joined
- A measurable lift in how quickly customer signal becomes shipped product
- Antara and the broader suite positioned, packaged and priced to win the next tier of enterprise deals
- AI features that customers don't just tolerate, they ask for more of
Why icetana
- You'll ship real AI into environments where it matters and not another internal chatbot
- You'll have a seat at the table: direct line to the COO, regular exposure to the board, real influence on company direction
- You'll build, not just maintain: we're growing fast and the product org is yours to shape
- Perth lifestyle, global impact: our customers are in Japan, Singapore, UAE, Kuala Lumpur, Canada, the US and APAC but your weekends are still yours
- Low ego, high ownership: we move fast, we trust each other and we have a laugh while we do it
